How to add a date input to a form

The Date input inserts a date selector onto a form. They Dates can be entered 20 years into the future or 100 years into the past.

  1. From the Input menu in the Form Designer, click Date.
  2. The Date input is added to the form.
  3. Click on it to view the Date input slider.
  4. In the Label field, enter a label for the date.
  5. Select the column span size for the date.
  6. Expand Input Options.
  7. To restrict dates in the past or future, enter the days before or after today's date for the restriction.

    For example, you have to follow-up on a site visit within a week. On your form you have a date field with 7 entered in the Days After Today field.

    When an app user opens the calendar to pick a date for the follow-up visit, only the next 7 dates are available to choose from:

  8. Mark options as a default for the date input.
    Toggle on Use Default Value, then select the options from the list you want to default when using the app. Defaults can be changed during form entry.

    Mark Default Current Date on Form to automatically insert the current date when the form is opened using the app. Defaults can be changed during form entry.

    Mark Default Value from Another Field to default a value from another field. Then from the Select Form Field list, select the field you want to use to default from.

  9. Expand Styles to specify the style settings for the date input. See Applying Styles to Inputs for more information. 
  10. Expand Validations to create a validation for the date input. See Creating Field Level Validations for more information.
  11. Expand Field Condition to create a condition for the date input.
  12. Save your entries. 
  13. Click (Preview) to view how the Date input will look in the app. Click in the field to open a calendar and select the date or click the calendar icon to default today's date into the field.
