Using the Calculate Default Date Field

How to use the Calculate Default Date field

Use the Calculate Default Date field when you want to automatically populate a date by adding or subtracting a number of days from the current date or another date on a form. The resulting date appears in the form's date field in the app. For example, you have an Inspection form that if a follow-up appointment is needed, you want to automatically schedule that for a week after the initial inspection.
  1. In the Edit Date window, toggle on the Use Default Value option.
  2. Mark Calculate Default Date.
  3. From the Starting Date field, select Current Date or another date you want to add or subtract days from to get the resulting date.
  4. Mark Add or Subtract to calculate the default date.
  5. From the Value Type field, select Field then select the other number, calculated or date span field on the form to add or subtract days, or select User-Defined Value to enter your own number to add or subtract to/from the starting date.
The following illustration displays how the follow-up date appears in the app using October 2nd, 2024, as the current date in the calculation.
