FormsPro 2506.5 Installation Instructions

The following provides requirements and instructions to install FormsPro. Contact support@omnibyte.com for questions you may have.

The following lists the prerequisites required before you can install FormsPro:

  • The FormsPro database needs to reside on SQL Server 2019 or greater.
  • A remote connection to SQL Server available for OmniByte staff to install and configure.
  • An SSL certificate is required to run HTTPS, for better security.
  • Admin account on machine (Windows).
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) installed on machine with ASP.NET installed as part of IIS.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1.
  • SQL server credentials for a user that has rights to create the database and create objects.
  • Port forwarding from an external address (for technician access).
  • Determine where the users for FormsPro are going to be coming from (AD or otherwise).
  • Review the FormsPro Technical Fact Sheet for essential information about FormsPro.

Prior to Upgrading

We recommend that your forms have completed their processes, such as workflows, and users remove or complete as many saved forms as possible.

FormsPro Installation

To install FormsPro:

  1. Copy the MSI install package to a folder or to the desktop on your machine.
  2. Double-click the exe file. The Welcome to the FormsPro Server Setup Wizard window opens. If you need to install prerequisites, when you double-click the Forms.exe file the Welcome to the Prerequisites Setup Wizard window opens. Follow the Prerequisites Installation instructions before installing FormsPro. 
  3. In the Welcome to the FormsPro Server Setup Wizard, click Next. The Installation Type window opens.
  4. Select the type of environment to which you are installing FormsPro: IIS or Azure App Service, then click Next.
  5. If you selected IIS, follow the Installing IIS procedures.
  6. If you selected Azure App Service Installation, follow the Installing Azure App Service procedures.

Verify FormsPro Creation:

  1. Verify FormsPro is created in the IIS Default website:
  2. Launch FormsPro (localhost/forms/login.html).
