How to use the deployment connection type
The Form Deployment page allows you to transfer or deploy forms from one site (or environment) to another. This is especially useful when you’re working in multiple environments—such as development, testing, and production—and need to move forms between them while maintaining consistency and version control.
To enable this functionality, you must first set up a Deployment connection. This allows your system to communicate securely with another site where the forms will be deployed. Think of it as a “bridge” between two environments, allowing you to send and receive form data, configurations, and structures.
- From the Configuration menu on the left, select Data Connections.
- Click + Connection to open the Connection window.
- Enter a connection name and description for the deployment connection. This helps you identify the data connection if you connect to more than one database.
- Select Deployment as the connection type.
- Enter the admin site's URL from which you want to deploy in the Site URL field. For example, if you are deploying a form from your Test environment to your Production environment, the URL of the Test environment is entered.
- Click Test Connection to ensure your settings are correct.
- Click Save when you've completed your changes.
