Adding an Action Button to a Form

How to add an Action button to a form

Action buttons allow app users to quickly perform tasks by triggering a form entry action. When you click an action button, it launches a specific event—bringing back data into the form or logging an activity. These buttons are designed to make common actions faster and easier, helping you stay productive with just a few taps.

  1. From the Actions/Container menu in the Form Designer, click Action Button.
  2. The Action Button is added to the form.
  3. Click on it to view the Action Button input slider.
  4. In the Label field, enter a label for the action button. Be descriptive, especially if you have more than one action button on your form.
  5. Select the column span size for the action button.
  6. Expand Input Options. Toggle Required if the action button is required. In the Tooltip field, enter the tip/hint you may want to include for the action button.
  7. From the Form Action list select the action to be performed. The actions in this list were created on the Form Actions page.

  8. The response entries default based on what was set up on the Form Actions page, but you can make changes here.
  9. Save your changes.
