How to use the Properties, Expressions, Field List and Report Explorer Panels

The menu in the upper right-hand corner of the Report Designer gives you access to the Properties, Expressions, Field List, and Report Explorer panels.
The Properties panel is used to access and customize report elements. To open the Properties panel, on the design surface click a report element then click . Or select an item in the Report Explorer then click .
The Expressions panel is used assign values to various element properties. To open the Expressions panel, click , then click the next to the property to open the Expression Editor.
The Fields List displays a report's data sources. You can manage report data sources, add calculated fields and create bound report controls. To open the Fields List, click .
The Report Explorer displays all report controls and bands in a tree form. You can view a report’s structure and provide access to report elements, styles, and data sources. To open the Report Explorer, click .
