How to use the Event tab in the Notification Settings window
When a notification is event-driven, you need to identify the specifics about the event using the Event tab in the Notification Settings window. For example, let's say most calls are maintenance calls on a contract (MCC calls) and are assigned a month in advance. If a tech is assigned call with a T&M (Time and Materials) call type, the tech may not notice it. You can build the event to drive the notification so that the tech is notified of the T&M call and make it a priority.
- From the menu on the left, click App Settings, then Notifications.
- Click Add Notification to open the Notification Settings window.
- Enter a name for the notification. This information helps identify the notification in the Notification Log.
- Select Event as the type of notification. The Event tab is enabled.
- Specify when to send the notification:
Select New Work Order to send the notification when a new work order is created. Then specify the applicable value information to build the event.
Select Checkout to send the notification at checkout. When the event is Checkout, the only Value Type field selection is Error. This is useful to alert a tech that there was an issue with their checkout. - Click the Notification tab to continue setting up the notification.
