How to send notifications
Use the Notifications page to send important messages—such as emergency alerts—to specific groups or individuals. Notifications are only supported on iOS and Android devices. They are not available on browser or desktop applications.
- From the Operations menu, click Notifications. The Notifications page opens.
- Select who should receive the notification:
All Users – Toggle this on to send the notification to every user.
Teams – Send the notification to all users in the selected teams. Duplicate users are automatically filtered, so each user receives the notification only once. For example, if a user is part of both a location-based team and a site-based team, they will only receive the notification once. This option can be used in combination with Individual Users and Users by Role.
Individual Users – Select specific users to receive the notification. This can be used in combination with Teams and Users by Role.
Users by Role – Send the notification to all users assigned to a specific role.
As with other options, duplicate users are filtered to avoid multiple notifications. For example, if a user is selected both as part of a team and a role, they’ll only receive the notification once. This can be used in combination with Teams and Individual Users. - Enter a notification subject in the Title Text field. This serves as the subject of the notification and helps identify it in the Notification Log. The title can be up to 64 characters.
- Enter the notification you want to send in the Notification Text field. This is the content of the notification and can be up to 200 characters.
- Toggle Request Response on to require recipients to confirm they’ve received the notification and are taking appropriate action. You must enter at least one Response Button in the Response Text field to send the notification when this option is enabled.
- Toggle the Get GPS on Response on to capture the user’s GPS coordinates when they select a response. This feature is especially helpful in emergency situations where a user may need assistance. The user's device must have location services enabled for GPS data to be collected.
Important: We recommend informing users that GPS tracking is enabled when responding to notifications. This feature cannot be restricted once activated and should be used only in emergency situations—not as a method for monitoring employees. -
Click Send to deliver the notification. A record of the notification will appear immediately in the Notification Log. Click Save to store the notification in your current browser session. This is useful if you begin creating a notification but need to leave the page—when you return, the saved notification will still be there.
Note: Saved notifications are only stored for the current browser session and will be cleared once the browser is closed.
Click Clear to remove all data currently entered on the page.
