How to use the Displayed Value is Different than Saved Value toggle
The Display Value is Different than Saved Value toggle is available in the Edit Checkbox, Edit Lookup, Edit Radio, Edit Segmented Button, and Edit Select windows and applies to tables too. Use this toggle to display values differently than the saved value. This is helpful for those situations where your database or integrating product is expecting one value, but that value may be confusing to your app users. Think of this as having a “friendly” name and a “technical” name for the same option.
If you have the Enable for Calculated Fields option marked for lookup, radio and select inputs, the saved value can be used in the calculation. For example, the displayed value might be Each and Case and the saved value is 1 and 12.
Let’s say you have an incident report that asks whether medical treatment is required for the incident. On the form you will use Yes and No radio buttons, but your database or integrating product is expecting True or False. A technician will see the displayed value entry on the form, but the saved value entry is submitted.
