Using an MDM
How to use Mobile Device Management (MDM)
An MDM is a system that lets an organization manage and control mobile devices, such as tablets and phones, from one central place.
For example, an organization can use an MDM to:
- Set up devices for employees or shared use
- Install or remove apps
- Control device settings
- Apply security requirements
- Restrict access to certain features
- Configure applications
- Remotely lock or wipe a device if needed
Think of an MDM as a remote control center for an organization's mobile devices. It allows an administrator to set rules and manage devices without having to configure each device individually. For example, a new version of FormsPro is released. An MDM allows an IT administrator can update all devices from a central location.
