How to copy a data set
You can create a copy of an existing data set using the Copy Data Set window. This can be useful if you want to:
-
Safely test changes without affecting the original data set.
-
Modify a field label in one form while keeping the original label in another.
For details about data sets, see Creating a Data Set.
- From the Reusable Components menu, select Data Sets and select the data set you want to copy. The Data Set Designer opens.
- Click Copy to open the Copy Data Set window.
- The original data set name is displayed with "Copy" at the end in the New Data Set Name field. Rename the data set to suit your needs.
- Click Save to save the copied data set. The copied data set is added to Reusable Components menu under the Data Sets list. It is simply an exact copy of the existing data set, but it can be edited for your needs.
