Adding a Link Input to a Form
How to add a Link input to a form
The link input provides a hyperlink to a website or another app that appears as a button on your form. This can be useful if you want to include a link on a form to your company's website, a manual or perhaps a weather site.
- From the Actions/Container menu in the Form Designer, click Link.
- The Link input is added to your form.

- Click it to view the Edit Link input slider.

- In the Label field, enter a label for the link.
- Select the column span size for the link field.
- Expand Input Options.

- In the Tooltip field, enter the tip/hint you may want to include for the link.
-
In the URL field, type or paste the website or app link:
-
For websites: If you don’t include http:// or https://, it will be added automatically.
-
For apps: Include the full URL including ://.
-
- Click
(Insert Merge Field) if you want to add a merge field to the link to dynamically include a form field value (such as a model number for a manual). - Specify if you want to open the link in the app or in a browser. The App option is typical functionality. The browser option is used if the app contains pop-ups or doesn’t open or perform as expected. It provides you with another option to open the app and return to it easily. The app user does not notice any differences between the options.
- Expand Style to specify the style settings for the link input. See Applying Styles to an Input for more information.
- Save your entries.
- Click
(Preview) to view the link added. In Preview, you can test links to websites, but links to mobile apps do not work in most circumstances.
