How to prevent the app from sleeping on an Android device
Android devices "sleep" and/or "clean" apps periodically depending how long it’s been since they were used and what else is currently running. When this happens and a user goes back to the app, it starts fresh like it has just been opened. Any data on a form that has not been through a save is lost when the app restarts.
By changing the device settings, it is less likely that FormsPro is put to sleep or cleaned by Android, and in the process help reduce the instances of unsaved changes being lost.
- Under Settings>Device Care>Battery>App Power Management you can toggle “Put unused apps to sleep” to off.
- In the same area, can click on “Apps that won’t be put to sleep” and use the plus icon to add FormsPro to a list of apps that won’t be put to sleep.
- Go into Settings>Device Care>Memory, click on “Apps to exclude from cleaning” and add FormsPro to that list.
The best thing the techs can do to prevent lost data when the app is restarted, is get in the habit of clicking the Save icon before using a different app or setting down their device. That way everything just entered is part of a save.
