How to use the Can Shrink option on reports

The Can Shrink option allows a field or element to automatically reduce its height if the content doesn’t fill the entire space. This helps keep a report clean and compact.

This is especially useful when working with dynamic tables that might not always have data. If a table is empty, enabling Can Shrink helps prevent extra blank space—or the entire empty table—from being printed in your report.

  1. Open the Properties panel on the left side of the Report Designer.
  2. Expand Behavior, then mark the Can Shrink option.
  3. Save your changes.
