How to limit the number of characters in text and long text fields

Limiting the number of characters in a text and long text field can be helpful if you have data that updates other systems that has limits on characters. 

In the Character Limit fields of Text and Long Text inputs enter the character count of text fields. The character count includes all characters including spaces. For example, if the character limit specified is 7 and you enter “1 92-03,” the space and dash are included in the character count. In long text fields, paragraph breaks count as two characters.
